Lindsey on stage receiving an award, standing next to the principal
On Wednesday there was an intermediate awards assembly at the kids' school. Eric and I were invited to attend. Lindsey and Spencer were recognized for participating in Student Council. This was Spencer's first year in Student Council and Lindsey's third year.
Lindsey also received an award for reading because she earned all A's in that subject, which was the 2nd best grade in the class.
Throughout the school year, Lindsey participated in Battle of the Books. This is a program where, as teams, kids read assigned books and then answer questions. There are three battles, each consisting of questions from 4 different books. Some of the books were Everything on a Waffle, Tuck Everlasting, Island of the Blue Dolphins, Sarah Plain and Tall. Lindsey had a great team she worked with - Riley and Trevor. They met together on the Saturday before the Battle and quizzed each other and ate lunch. They did so good in all of the battles. They ended up getting Second Place in the competition. During the Awards Assembly, her team each received a trophy.
Logan's class had their own awards assembly too. Logan was presented with a reading certificate because he read 27 take-home books during the last semester.
Lindsey, Spencer, and Logan have all had fabulous school years and have learned so much. I think their awards are reflections of what great teachers they have.
