Road Trip: Nauvoo

Nauvoo was a great place to visit. There were so many things to see and do, that we could have spent a few days there. We got there around 4:00 in the afternoon and were able to visit a center that demonstrated some of the skills the Saints had. We saw a show, put on by the missionaries serving in Nauvoo. The next day we were able to visit more buildings and do more activities until about 2:00, when we had to move on and get on the road.

Kaylen and Logan could have spent hours dressed as pioneers, playing with simple, basic pioneer toys and playing outisde.

Lindsey was totally grossed out to pet the ox.

We went on a wagon ride, pulled by oxen.

The brick maker was a favorite place to visit because we got a souvenir Nauvoo brick. (Spencer quickly took it when we got home and has claimed it as his own.)

The boys inspected the bustle oven, where some homemade bread they sampled was baked.

The printshop was interesting, it was quite similar to the type we use for yearbooks.

It sounds like such a fun trip. I love the dress up pictures. Your family looks so cute pulling the handcart. I've been on several pioneer treks and I didn't as cute as your kids did.
