Lindsey participated in Battle of the Books again this year. Her team was the same as last year, with Riley and Trevor. There were three battles this year, each battle consisting of questions from 4 books. Each of the kids read at least 2 books for each battle. Before each battle, they got together at Trevor's house and reviewed the books and some questions. Trevor's dad was awesome because he read all the books and helped the kids review them.
They were tied for the first battle. On the second battle, they ended up being in the lead. They earned/won first place with the third battle. This meant they got to go District for the semi-finals. Lindsey didn't say too much about how she felt, but they all looked nervous. As they would get up to the mic to answer the questions, they would debate and almost fight over the answer. They weren't sure what to answer with some of the questions, so they'd just let the time expire and not venture a guess. They ended up being in 4th place. I'm proud of the work that they all went to.
